LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used environmental rating system in the world. LEED’s requirements can be applied to virtually any building, community, or home project and serves to provide a framework for healthier, more efficient, and green buildings for everyone.

LEED certifications are recognized globally as a symbol of environmental sustainability achievement.

Strathcona Cleaners provides Green Services that are closely linked to the LEED Green Housekeeping requirements. Our team has no problem meeting LEED’s requirements and going above and beyond expectations to supply our clients with the best possible work.

What are the benefits of Green Cleaning? Here are a few:

  • Increased indoor air quality due to decrease VOC’s in the air.

  • Lower Maintenance costs

  • Reduced customer and occupant complaints

  • Better public image

  • A lower ecological footprint

What are LEED Canada’s requirements for Green Housekeeping Services?

The following apply to all materials and resources we purchase:

  • Purchases that contain at least 10% post consumer and/or 20% post-industrial recycled content

  • Purchases containing at least 50% rapidly renewable resources

  • Purchases consisting of 50% Forest Stewardship Council certified paper products

  • Rechargeable batteries in battery operated equipment

LEED Canada sets environmental guidelines for everybody. Whether you are a working in your house or a large corporation, LEED Canada strives to set guidelines for environmentally friendly practices in all situations. LEED also has a point system that promotes competition between companies to reach the highest tier level. In addition to meeting LEED Canada’s requirements, we also have our own Green Cleaning Policy to ensure our ecological footprint is minimized. Those policies can be found here: http://strathconacleaners.com/green-cleaning.html.
